Drinking Cacao Recipe
Cacao has traditionally held a central role in connecting with Pachamama, Community, & the Divine. We invite you with this cup to play & explore the endless connections Cacao can unfold for you. We invite in with this cup your curiosity and silliness to explore hidden parts of oneself not yet forged.
Our Cacao Recipe is an ally to assist you in opening up what we call "Silly Portals". Depending on your intent when using Cacao, we happily encourage you to blend your Cacao with special herb & spice mixes for various effects.
When making a Cacao drink, make sure you're using "Cacao Paste", not Powder, and double check that your paste has not been "defatted". Fats & Oils in the butter create a more potent, healthier drink, so make sure they're still there! Avoid processed sugars, drink warm, and be careful with how much you drink. "Ceremonial" Cacao is a more potent stimulant than store bought chocolate.

A: Cacao is the natural state of the plant, cocoa is a highly processed form of cacao - simply put.
Cacao has many varietals, some that produce a better flavor than others.
Cocoa typically uses poor quality beans that are very bitter. By processing them with high heat, manufactures change the taste of the product to produce something "sweeter". Cocoa mixed with sugar & dairy is used in most chocolate items because the high heat process of cocoa makes it easier to mix into recipes. This heat process renders a lot of the nutrients in the original cacao inert, making cocoa mostly a flavorant of cacao.
Pure "Cacao" is potent, flavorful, and more nutritious than cocoa. Low heat is used in Cacao processing preserving the flavor, high fat count & nutrient density of the original bean. Cacao has a variable & unique flavor by batch and ultimately yields a Superfood product in the end! In this raw to semi-raw state Cacao is a strong stimulant! This is pure chocolate, no adulteration.
A: It represents the quality of bean, effects, & intention in using Cacao.
"Ceremonial" classifies a particular quality of bean used. These beans are usually raw or barely processed and contain high amounts of theobromine and anandamide that help to enhance the mood and energy of a partaker.
These enhanced moods can reach a state of euphoria where many people classify their experience as "opening" and "powerful" with moments of ecstasy, connection, and synchronicity with their surroundings.
People have chosen to gather around Cacao in "ceremony" to convene in a shared experience of this plant and these moving effects and thus giving this quality of bean the name "Ceremonial Cacao". Music, divination, and dance are often part of these types of celebrations.
